I just returned from my second mission trip in 5 weeks! (What was I thinking? ) The trips were very different - Monterrey, Mexico was surveying college students about their church attendance to help a new church plant there, and sharing the gospel with people who live in the garbage dump outside the city of 4.5 million people. (Can you imagine that much garbage?!?) The trip to LaCeiba, Honduras was mainly a construction trip. With the Great Commission Church there we finished a new cement block home which they gave to one of the poorer families of their church. It was a great experience to move Miguel, his wife Syria, and their five children out of the jungle where they had lived in a thatched hut into this home that even has an indoor toilet! The Honduran people we work with do not have a lot in the way of material possessions, but they have a faith in God that lights up everything they do! It is always such a great experience to go and serve with them for a week! Check out the "Outreach" tab and watch some of the video of the GCLA churches!
